Senior Account Manager - PR

Position Overview:
Our team is growing, and we’re seeking an experienced Senior PR Account Manager to lead the external communications for a wealth of hospitality clients. This role requires a strategic communicator who can craft compelling narratives, manage multiple PR campaigns, and drive brand awareness for our clients. The ideal candidate combines deep industry expertise and strong media relationships with exceptional writing skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • A natural project manager who can multitask, pivot quickly when needed and expertly manage priorities, while meeting deadlines and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications 
  • Support the Head of PR and Communications in all PR work, both client and agency related, including strategy creation, scope expansions and renewals and client services.
  • Proactively lead the development of client PR strategies and plans, ensuring they are executed and adapted to reflect changes in landscape and potential storytelling opportunities. 
  • Lead imaginative PR campaigns and influencer programs that support the larger communications strategy, resulting in a positive impact on the client’s business.

Client Account Management
  • Act as the main point of contact across multiple accounts, ensuring clients remain informed with full information and insight into the status of current projects.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the agency’s creative and marketing teams to ensure strategic alignment on client accounts.
  • Oversee media coverage monitoring, ensuring clients receive regular updates.
  • Produce timely and insightful quarterly reports, using relevant analytics and success metrics.
  • Act as an ambassador for SMC Communications, and on behalf of your clients.

Media and Stakeholder Relations 
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key media, influencers and stakeholders.
  • Actively seek out new media relationships and pitching opportunities, continually expanding the agency's media database and providing clients with new opportunities for coverage.
  • Develop, organize and execute media events for clients, including launches, media previews and PR campaigns.
  • Host media at client events and venues as well as attend media tastings, press trips and industry events.
  • Actively pitch and coordinate media interviews, radio and television appearances and speaking opportunities for clients.
  • Oversee and contribute to the creation and upkeep of accurate media and influencer lists, continually expanding with new contacts.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.
  • 6+ years experience in a communications or public relations role, with a minimum of 2 years agency experience.
  • Experience leading strategy development and execution across multiple client accounts.
  • Experience leading and managing junior team members, focusing on coaching and growth.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with clients and internal cross-
  • functional teams to drive deliverables to outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an extreme attention to detail.
  • Exceptional project and time management skills, with a proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Hospitality and/or restaurant experience is considered an asset.

Compensation

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
